VOLUNTEERS
The residents of the Hellenic Center are strongly connected to the community, and
that connection is comprised of volunteers whose commitment to the
elderly begins with being compassionate and caring friends. These
volunteers visit on a regular basis and establish lasting
relationships. They host parties, they read stories, they help in
feeding and assist residents to chapel. They sing and dance, they
commemorate special holidays, feast days, and all manner of
traditional celebrations. They escort residents to off-site outings
and to shopping centers. They alleviate concerns and diminish
loneliness. At Hellenic, this volunteering, this caring and
compassion, this respect for the elderly are its hallmark
and greatly enhance the clinical care provided.
MISSION STATEMENT
