At The Hellenic, residents receive lots of attention so that medical problems are discovered early and addressed immediately. Each resident is assigned a primary Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who, through daily contact with specific residents, develops an in-depth understanding of their backgrounds, medical histories, personalities and other factors that could influence their care. A nurse practitioner sees residents on a regular basis. She is certified to order medications, tests and treatments, and works closely with The Hellenic’s Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Physician Geriatric Specialists. In addition, many conditions can be treated without hospitalization, thanks to a unique Medicare insurance program and excellent in-house medical capabilities. Following an illness or skilled rehabilitation, a restorative exercise and therapy program ensures that residents maintain the highest possible level of functioning.
